Saratoga Selections By Frank Lyons: Saturday, August 5, 2017

The Green Sheet has expanded its handicapping coverage this summer, as Frank Lyons–Breeder’s Cup winning trainer and former on-air personality with Television Games Network (TVG)–has signed on to give his selections for the 2017 meet at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York.

In addition to a multi-year stint as a host and racing analyst on TVG, Lyons saddled 1995 Breeder’s Cup Sprint (G1) winner Desert Stormer. He also bought and campaigned Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner Castledale. He’s currently a bloodstock agent and the host of a weekly radio show in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Saturday, August 5 program at Saratoga has 11 races on the agenda including five black-type events–the $1,200,000 Whitney Stakes (G1), the $500,000 Longines Test Stakes (G1), the $200,000 Fasig-Tipton Waya Stakes (G3T), the $100,000 Fasig-Tipton Lure Stakes, and the $100,000 De La Rose Stakes. The program also has a huge $774,754 carryover in the $2 Pick 6 in addition to a $191,313 carryover in the $2 Pick 5.

Frankie gave out five winners on Friday at The Spa and had a positive 77 percent return on investment (ROI*) on the card, or a flat-bet profit of $1.53 cents for each $2 wagered on his top selections. He will be giving out his picks FREE of charge for the duration of Saratoga’s 2017 summer meet. Click HERE to see who he likes on Saturday!

*Return on investment is calculated by placing a hypothetical $2 win wager on all top selections and dividing the net profit by the total amount wagered.
