Saratoga Selections By Frank Lyons: Thursday, August 3, 2017

The Green Sheet has expanded its handicapping coverage this summer, as Frank Lyons–Breeder’s Cup winning trainer and former on-air personality with Television Games Network (TVG)–has signed on to give his selections for the 2017 meet at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York.

In addition to a multi-year stint as a host and racing analyst on TVG, Lyons saddled 1995 Breeder’s Cup Sprint (G1) winner Desert Stormer. He also bought and campaigned Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner Castledale. He’s currently a bloodstock agent and the host of a weekly radio show in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Thursday, August 3 program at Saratoga has 10 races on the agenda including a black-type steeplechase affair–the $75,000 Mrs. Ogden Phipps Stakes for fillies and mares four-years-old and upward to be run at a two mile and a sixteenth trip over national fences–in addition to the $100,000 Birdstone Stakes going a mile and three-quarters on the main track.

Frankie gave out three winners on Wednesday’s 10-race program at The Spa and had a positive return on investment (ROI*) on the card . He will be giving out his picks FREE of charge for the duration of Saratoga’s 2017 summer meet. Click HERE to see who he likes on Thursday!

*Return on investment is calculated by placing a hypothetical $2 win wager on all top selections and dividing the net profit by the total amount wagered.
