“Riders Up!”: Episode 4 (6/25/17) with Bruce Headley & Scott Hazelton

The featured ninth race on Churchill’s Sunday, June 25 program is a $55,300 entry-level allowance/$75,000 optional claiming affair for three-years-olds going a mile and a sixteenth on the main track.

Chuck Hovitz’s Awesome Saturday is the even-money favorite in the field of eight off his his consistent form, but the son of Any Given Saturday figures to get a stiff challenge from Watch Me Whip, a highly regarded $330,000 son of Smart Strike trained by Dale Romans, who is a mere three victories away from tying Bill Mott (701) as the all-time leading trainer by wins at Churchill Downs.

The Green Sheet had four winners on Saturday’s 11-race card in Louisville and touted a $291 trifecta in the Chicago Handicap (G3), however The Sheet had a negative three percent return on investment (ROI)* or a flat-bet loss of six cents for each two dollars wagered on the program.

34 days into the meet, The Sheet is hitting at a win clip of 27 percent; its top selection in each race has finished in the money 63 percent of time.
